Developed by the Certification Board for Professionals in Patient Safety (CBPPS), CPCHE is the first psychometrically sound certification for clinical health equity professionals. Requirements for Certification

Candidates for the Certified Professional in Clinical Health Equity credential are those who include clinical health equity as an integral component of their current professional responsibilities. Candidates must demonstrate the following experience in advancing clinical health equity:

  • Two years of experience (equivalent to 4,100 hours) advancing clinical health equity as an integral component of current professional responsibilities, over the most recent four years. Experience can include the following as long as it demonstrates experience advancing, educating, and/or learning about clinical health equity:
    • Education, Clinical Experience, Advocacy, Patient Navigation, Community Health Work, Public Health, and Research.

CPCHE Review Courses

Review courses help you prepare for the Certified Professional in Clinical Health Equity exam by reviewing domain content areas and test-taking strategies. Review courses are offered in multiple formats and CE credits are available.

Review Course Live Webinars

Delivered live over two consecutive days, this interactive live webinar review course is led by experienced faculty with deep expertise in clinical health equity. Participants will explore the core CPCHE content areas — Health Systems and Context, Equitable Health Care Assessment and Design, and Health Data and Information. The review course includes in-depth reviews, practical test-taking strategies, and real-time Q&A, all within a collaborative and supportive virtual environment.

Continuing Education Credits for CPCHE Review Courses

In support of improving patient care, the Institute for Healthcare Improvement is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

This program is approved to provide 7 credits for physicians, nurses, pharmacists, Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) recertification, Certified Professional in Human Factors in Health Care (CPHFH) recertification, Certified Professional in Age-Friendly Health Care (CPAFH) recertification, and Certified Professional in Clinical Health Equity (CPCHE) recertification.

The Institute for Healthcare Improvement designates this live activity for a maximum of 7 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. This activity may also be applicable for other professions that accept AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.
